Within this photograph I was attempting to show how the light was coming through the trees and to clearly show the pathway of the sunlight. When taking this image I saw how there was a different shades depending on where the light climbed through the trees and depending on where you stood, you could see the shapes in which the light made on the mud. The camera it was taken with was a Canon 1200D and it was on the setting of landscape which focuses on the key details in the image in front of the lens. This photograph was taken on Saturday the 6th of June at midday. The work of Dragan Todorovic influenced me in completing this piece due to the darkness of his work and how he has focused on the light being the important feature of the image. When looking at the edited image, the sharpness of the objects are clear and detailed but the light fills up most of the picture and leading to an object or person. In his images, the tone is clear and you can see where the room is dark and where the light comes in through an opening (window) onto the person in the image. I feel that the composition is effective due to the fact that I was focusing on how the light could come through a gap or opening and create a detailed image that shows how the light is being brought into a space. When framing the image before taking the photograph, I tried to include the shape of the trees, the shade and where the light comes into the photograph. When using Photoshop, I change the tone to monochrome to keep it related back to the photographer my work is influenced by. Also by making the tone monochrome, you can see clearly how the light is coming through the tree line and demonstrated what the topic of the photo shoot was about. The contrast of tone and colour within this piece was dark mixed with light but I used this to show how the light was the key part of the photograph and how we see these things in a different perspective. The change in tone or colour has made the image seem darker in emotion or mood however the light shows how there is something good contrasting in the image. This dark mood was created when I used Photoshop to edit my image but when looking at the original image, it brings a positive mood to the image and shows in clear detail why the image was taken. In order to refine and develop this piece I would think about how I can make the shape and texture of objects in the image clearer but still keeping the topic of the image clear to the audience reviewing the photograph.
Within this photograph I was attempting to show how the camera has focused on how the light had reached the plant and how it stands out from the other leaves surrounding it. By taking this image I have seen how when the photograph was taken, the topic of light came to life and I understood how I could develop these further. Either in Photoshop or by taking another photo shoot. The camera I used to complete this photo shoot was a Canon 1200D with the setting of close up to catch the detail of the leaves and to clearly see the light being brought on to the plant. This photograph was taken on the 11th of May at around four o'clock in the afternoon. The work of Dragan Todorovic influenced me in completing this piece due to the way he thinks about the way the light comes into the room and changes the way the image looks towards the audience. The colour used was black and white or monochrome which gives a highlight to the way the light is the topic of the image created by Dragan Todorovic. The tone of the images vary depending on where he wants the audience to look and see how the topic of the photo shoot was brought to life. By having two colours of black and white, he can see what areas which are dark can blend in while the lighter areas are the main focus of the image. I feel that the composition is effective due to the fact that I was focusing on how the light made the plant look different and how the leaves stood out in the frame that I was using for my photograph. Once I had taken this photograph and uploaded it into Photoshop, I took the idea from Dragan Todorovic to use the tone and colour of monochrome to highlight and make the light stand out as the leaves curve over. This photograph shows how the leaves or the plants lean into the light being place onto the centre plant and this creates a different perspective of the photograph taken. The contrast of tone or colour within this piece of the original image, I used the idea of the different shades of green from the plants and leaves that change depending on whether they are in the sun or in the shade surrounded by trees. However when you put this into Photoshop and you change the colour to monochrome, you can still see how the shade of the plants have changed even though it is not the original image. The mood for the original and the edited image are the same even though the edited image is darker and less detailed. But when you compared the two images, it is still understandable why the photo shoot was taken and how I as the photographer wanted to show the topic to an audience. In order to refine and develop this piece I would try and see if I can make the leaves which are closer to the camera clearer and more detailed. If I was to do this, it would show a high skill which I could use to develop other images.
