For the photo shoot which I have completed, I went out to take a variety of pictures of pub signs which all have similar names. These were based on rulers such as kings and queens or even famous people which are known to fairy tales told to children. This photo shoot was influenced by Olivia Parker who takes photographs of objects together and then edits them to make the tone monochrome. However I have made my photo shoot different so they are not together but separate so that I can put them together in the future in Photoshop. This photo shoot was taken in Gravely and Baldock where most pubs are located. The type of light which was used was sunlight as it was a nice sunny day and the sun complemented the name of the pub being displayed by the sign. The angles which I considered were the way in which you could see the pub but the sign was obvious for the audience to see. Such as the building, the sign and the name of the pub on the side of the building. To make this topic better from this photo shoot, I could take another one which means putting objects which relate to each other together but still keeping it to the subject of collections. What could of gone better is a bigger variety or a aimed name for the pub signs such as keeping to one name or looking for kings or queens. To develop these photographs further I will put them into Photoshop and edit the tone to become monochrome and change the brightness and vibrancy.
Repetition of objects
When repeating objects in a photo shoot and still making them look effective, I have used a variety of colour with Rubik's cubes to show the variety of colours on the screen with a plain background. Other parts of this photo shoot included mechanical parts of an engine placed together which are similar from a distance but up close they have slightly different shape and texture to them. This photo shoot was influenced by Jillian Audrey who uses a lot of colour in her work but puts together objects such as books or buttons to create a shape or close ups which show the texture of each individual one. The light in my own photographs are artificial from a dark room which I placed all of my objects but this only demonstrated the colours of the Rubik's cubes. To improve these photographs in the future, I will place these into Photoshop and try to make the colour more vibrant to make it stand out on the screen. By making these colours more vibrant, it shows the topic of repetition and how the subject of collects can relate to it.
Things come apart
From the title 'Things come apart', I have created a photo shoot which was aimed at mechanical objects which are seen from a variety of angles and with other objects which builds up an engine. This photo shoot was influenced by Todd McLennan because he takes objects which are well known such as a Dyson hoover and takes it apart but the audience still know what the image is itself. It took place on Tuesday the 1st of September in a workshop owned by a family member who let me borrow the materials at the time. The angles which I considered was the way the artificial light made details of the mechanical objects stand out to see every detail of the steel and iron. Also I wanted to see if I could get a variety of object in the photograph to show some cluttered together and some falling or spread around the surface of the base. To make this photo shoot better I could take more pictures but with different objects and possibly more colourful objects as it will show the detail of each individual object. In the future I will develop these photographs further by uploading then into Photoshop and seeing if I can piece some of them together in a variety of angles but keeping the objects and aim of the photo shoot clear the an audience.
